Planning for 2026 - Running Edition
Running was a sport I got into after completing the Disneyland half marathon (my first race) in 2015. After 10 years, I’ve gone on to do 7 marathons and 25 half marathons. In 2026, there’s a lot to look forward to in terms of races, some of which I’m preparing for today.

In 2026, I already have a few races planned. Here’s what’s scheduled (so far)
Disneyland Half Marathon - Dumbo Challenge
January 31 - February 1, 2026
With the announcement of the Disneyland runDisney events going on hiatus, the Disneyland Half Marathon weekend became a must-do. Main goal for this race is to have fun with it and finish strong after doing both the 10k and 13.1 mile distances over that weekend.
Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas
February 22, 2026
Running the Las Vegas strip has been on my bucket list. I was initially hesitant to do this race since it’s really close to the Disneyland race weekend, but it with that timing, it’s a good opportunity to try and sent a personal best.
Hapalua Half Marathon
April 12, 2026
This was one race I’ve been eyeing for a long time and am excited to share that I’m registered to run in 2026. I’ve been to Hawaii once, so getting this opportunity to experience it in a unique way is something to look forward to. This is another race I just want to enjoy. With the huge elevation gain at the end of the race, I have no intention to try and set any personal records for this one.
Springtime Surprise 10-miler
April 19, 2026
This is one week after the Hapalua in Hawaii, so I’m trying to figure out the logistics (and budget) for this race. Signing up for this race stems out of the hiatus on the Disneyland events, with the main intention doing it for the last coast-to-coast medal I can receive in a while. As a 10-miler, it’s the “easiest” way to get that challenge medal, but having done this race in the past, is one that I really enjoyed as well.
After April, I have no other races planned (yet), but the current plan is to work on building up mileage again with the hopes of developing the fitness and endurance to run a marathon (26.2 miles) in 2027.
